South San Francisco — “The Industrial City” — is home to one of the world’s great biotech corridors, anchored by Genentech’s global headquarters and dozens of life science campuses. It is also a community of hardworking, diverse families, many with deep roots in Latin America and across the Peninsula. When your child is struggling with sensory processing, feeding, or emotional regulation, the last thing your family needs is a long drive to a clinic. TheraPeeps brings specialized pediatric occupational therapy directly to your home, so therapy happens where your child is most comfortable and most themselves.
Just north in Daly City — the most densely populated city in San Mateo County — many families face an even steeper gap in access to specialized services. Daly City has the largest Filipino-American community of any city in the United States, along with large Latino and immigrant populations who have historically encountered real barriers to specialized therapy: long waitlists, clinic commutes, language gaps, and costs that feel out of reach. TheraPeeps was built to serve families exactly like yours. We offer in-home therapy with no clinic commute, a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist on staff, and a culturally responsive approach that takes your family’s background seriously. We also serve nearby communities including Millbrae, Burlingame, and San Mateo.
We bring the full range of specialized pediatric OT services directly to families in South San Francisco, Daly City, and across San Mateo County — no clinic appointment, no waiting room, no commute required.
TheraPeeps works with children ages 0–8 across a wide range of developmental, sensory, and behavioral challenges. For families in South San Francisco and Daly City — where access to private specialists can be limited — our in-home model makes expert evaluation and treatment achievable.
Not sure whether OT is the right fit? Call us at (650) 204-0677 — we are happy to talk through what your child is experiencing before you commit to anything.
TheraPeeps was built around a straightforward belief: specialized pediatric OT should be accessible to every family — not just those who can navigate clinic waitlists, manage a commute, or take time off work mid-day.
TheraPeeps is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly, but we work hard to make out-of-network reimbursement as accessible as possible for families who have coverage.

Yes — this is exactly the problem TheraPeeps was built to solve. We are a fully mobile, in-home practice. We come to you: your apartment, your house, your child’s daycare, or their school. You do not need a car, a parking spot, or a way to manage transit with a young child in tow. Daly City and South San Francisco are within our San Mateo County service area, and we travel directly to your neighborhood. Call us at (650) 204-0677 or fill out our intake form to get started.
Yes. We have a Spanish-speaking therapist on staff and can arrange for parent coaching and session communication to happen in Spanish when that is your preference. Language should never be a barrier to your child getting specialized support, and we take that seriously. Let us know your preference when you reach out and we will match you accordingly.
Private OT and school-based OT serve complementary but different purposes. SSFUSD’s school-based services are tied to what your child needs to access the educational curriculum — governed by IEP goals and limited by school hours. Private OT with TheraPeeps is not bound by those constraints: we address the broader developmental picture, work in your home environment, provide coaching for parents and caregivers, and cover goals that fall outside the school’s educational mandate. With your written permission, we are also glad to coordinate with your child’s school team.
Quite possibly, yes. Genentech and many biotech employers in the South San Francisco corridor provide PPO plans with meaningful out-of-network benefits. After each session, we provide a detailed superbill that you submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. We recommend calling the member services number on your insurance card and asking specifically about out-of-network occupational therapy coverage before assuming it will not be covered. Many families are pleasantly surprised.
Yes — and home is actually an ideal setting for it. The Safe and Sound Protocol is a listening-based program delivered through headphones over a series of sessions, and it translates well to a home environment. SSP uses specially filtered music to support nervous system regulation, reduce auditory sensitivities, and strengthen social engagement. Many children in Daly City and South San Francisco with sensory processing differences, autism, or anxiety have responded well to SSP as part of a broader OT plan.
