The Skills Kids Need for Readable Handwriting

What makes handwriting readable?

When I was homeschooling my son, I remember noticing that at times, his handwriting was not very readable.

There is a lot that goes into handwriting.

It is not just simply a look at the letter and copy it skill. Children need to have cognitive, perceptual, motor, coordination, memory, and sensory skills in order to create fluid, legible, easy-flowing handwriting.

Helping Kids Build the Skill of Handwriting

Everyone develops their own method of writing as they get older but, when children are beginning, there are certain necessities to ensure lifelong readability of handwriting.

As an occupational therapist of 25 years and a home school mom, I have researched, learned, and developed a program that establishes these skills in your own home. I love sharing these ideas with homeschool and traditional school families around Mountain View and the Bay Area.

Is your child is having difficulty with the legibility of handwriting?
